BLocal BUILD College

The BLocal partner companies have developed the BLocal BUILD College, a  program that provides training for small, local, minority-owned, woman-owned and/or disadvantaged Baltimore-based businesses in the design and construction industries. The BLocal BUILD College is a standing offering on a year-to-year basis which helps firms develop key competencies and relationships necessary for sustainability and future growth.  

Training sessions focus on construction-, design-, and business-related topics such as reading architectural drawings and specifications, bidding and legal/contracting considerations, change management, project management, financial management/banking, human resources, business development, bonding/surety, insurance and safety/quality management.

The training sessions are led by experienced personnel with extensive knowledge of their respective fields, such as:

  • Design Collective
  • Forrester Construction
  • Mahogany Contracting
  • Baker Donelson
  • ResultsCFO
  • RCM&D
  • Turner Construction

Additionally, the BLocal BUILD College provides an opportunity for firms to network with the industry experts and BLocal partners and develop relationships and contacts to assist them in the future. 

If your firm has been in business for at least two years and with a minimum gross revenue of $250k, complete the prequalification form below to indicate your firm's interest in the BLocal BUILD College. 

The application period for the  Fall 2017 BLocal BUILD College is open till  August 11, 2017. Applications received after  August 11th will be kept on file for the next BLocal BUILD College session.
