Johns Hopkins Facilities & Real Estate maintains inventories of the JHU Homewood/Charles Village buildings, rooms, and floor plans in the Space Management System. This database includes building lists, room names and room numbers, gross area and net assignable breakdowns of departmental space allocations.
Members of the university-wide space management team regularly perform field verifications of architectural floor plans to ensure accuracy. This information is used for the planning, budgeting, and charging of space and the Federal indirect cost recovery process.
Requesting Space Drawings and Reports
Building information and floor plans are available through the JHU space management team to help departments and other JHU organizations plan for change, identify repair or installation locations, or to reallocate space. To request online access to space drawings and reports, please contact your Project Manager or the Space Systems Administrator for your campus or school:

Federal Cost Recovery
The Johns Hopkins University follows the HEGIS standards of the National Center for Education Statistics in the Institute of Education Sciences in the US Department of Education for Federal indirect cost recovery funding. U.S. Federal audits are conducted every few years to determine the facilities and administrative (F&A) recovery rate for Federal government grants.
Space Charge Allocations
The space management team at Homewood is responsible for divisional square footage allocations used to calculate and charge monthly expenses based on occupancy.
